Senior Product Designer (m/f/d) - freelance contract

Your mission

This is a backfill position covering the maternity leave of one of our Senior Product Designers, with the possibility of extending the collaboration beyond the initial contract based on business needs and mutual fit.

We are looking for a seasoned, well-rounded Product Designer with proven expertise in user research, UX design, and UI design. The ideal candidate has experience working in cross-functional teams and is comfortable taking ownership of the end-to-end product design process.

In addition to strong B2B experience, we are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on complex, data-heavy platforms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals in Figma/Lovable or Claude.
  • Iterate quickly through prototypes and user validation cycles.
  • Plan and execute Usability testing with researcher, including in-person interviews.
  • Advocate for user-centered thinking and elevate design quality across the product.
  • Translate insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Ensure visual consistency and scalability through a robust design system.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure accurate and high-quality design implementation.

Your profile

Required skills and experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in end-to-end product design preferably in the B2B space.
  • Proven experience designing complex, data-heavy B2B platforms (e.g. analytics, reporting, workflow, or operational products); experience limited to B2B e-commerce or relatively straightforward business applications is not sufficient.
  • Comfortable with AI tools to like Figma, ChatGPT, Claude and Lovable to speed up workflows and design process.
  • Experience using product analytics tools such as PostHog, Mixpanel, or Amplitude to measure user behavior, evaluate product performance, and inform design decisions through data.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral, written and visual) in English.

Nice to have skills and experience

  • B2-level German skills or higher
  • Strong analytical mindset and the ability to slide-and-dice product analytics data
  • Experience working in high-growth startup environments
